I have been eating my usual meals for breakfast and lunch, but with a candy bar (small) after lunch, and either one Samoa or two Cafe Cookies. Usually I have another piece of candy in the afternoon, and I keep forgetting to have a piece of fruit. No--wait--I had a banana yesterday and today. I've had wine with dinner, and last night I had broiled salmon, baked potato and lima beans (we have a bag of them to get rid of) and salad for dinner. I also finished up with a piece of candy and a cookie and maybe one more candy at bedtime. I know I shouldn't be eating so many sweets. I think it is genetic, girls. My mom loved candy, but she had enormous will-power. I'm sure that was strengthened by a lifetime of fasting and abstaining throughout Lent, on the vigils of certain feast days (including Christmas Eve) and twelve Ember Days per year. We have it so much easier now! Of course, we are encouraged to fast and abstain regularly, but it isn't Canon Law, except a couple during Lent.
But I'm not getting any walking in, except walking around the nursing home, with Dad pushing Kirsten's wheel chair for support and balance. This afternoon we went around the second floor, then went up the elevator to the third and around it (it has some nice lounges up there) and then down to the first, where we ogled the private rooms and pretty lounges.
