I was back up to 142.8 today--nearly a three pound gain in a week. Think it has anything to do with sitting at home, reading endlessly, and scarfing cookies and candy? I'm back at work today, which automatically limits my intake and slightly increases my activity level since there's no sofa. So I should be back on track, and with no major holidays coming up in the near future there shouldn't be much food temptation running around.
So we're through the worst time of the year for dieting and I think we all managed to do pretty well, all things considered! Or at least none of us weighs more than we did back in September, which I think is more than most Americans can say! And now we have ten months until the feeding frenzy starts up again, and those ten months include six or seven months of good weather for getting outdoors and exercising (I'm looking forward to that--I said I hate running but I'd much rather be doing it outside than on a treadmill; last night I also spent time looking up all the bike trails in the Baltimore area and would like to give them a try this spring).
So here's a challenge for all of us: one good week. Not perfection, but how about we spend the next week focusing on making each day our ideal day in terms of diet and exercise? Whatever your personal goals are, do them. For me, that'll mean three days of running, three or four pilates/toning sessions, small portions of healthy food for each meal, two healthy snacks each day, lots of water, and no inhaling all the cookies and candy in sight each evening!
